Carlo Antonio Vanzon, the author of 

Grammatica ragionata della lingua italiana, was born in Livorno, Italy.


He was a language scholar, author, and translator who also spent time in Paris and London during his lifetime. 


Publications and translations

In addition to his grammar book, Vanzon authored and translated several other works. 

Dizionario universale della lingua italiana: Vanzon was the editor of this dictionary, which was published by the Torchi di L. Angeloni.

Translation of The Sorrows of Young Werther: Vanzon translated Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's novel I dolori del giovane Werther into Italian.
