Reverend Carlo d'Aquino was a significant Italian Jesuit, scholar, and Dante expert.
- Occupation He was a Catholic priest, university teacher, translator, and a renowned classical scholar and Latinist. He taught at the Roman College.
- Key Achievement He is best known for producing the first-ever translation of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy into heroic Latin verse.
- Published Works He authored several extensive lexicons and other academic works, including Lexicon militare (1724), Vocabularium architecturae aedificatoriae (1734), and Nomenclator agriculturae(1736).
